This morning, Denise got out a couple slices of french bread for herself. Charlie saw them, and began insisting that he wanted them instead ("Chachie eat Mama's bread!"). So I went to cut him a slice or two for himself.
Me: "Charlie, do you want me to toast your bread?"
Charlie: "No! Butter!"
Me: "Um... we don't have any more, Charlie. The butter's all gone."
Charlie: "Cream cheese!"
Me: "No Charlie, the cream cheese is all gone. We don't have any more."
Charlie: "Buy more cream cheese!"

Cleaning out the pantry
Oh, how much fun is this! I get to go through our pantry and clean out everything since we will be moving soon. I have made a pretty good dent on the healthy stuff like corn, green beans, and black beans. So I have started in on the fun shelf. :) The shelf with the sweet baking stuff... So I made these.

White melting chocolate that needs to be used. Check!
Partially stale pretzels that could use some spiffing up. Check!
Colored sprinkles. (But not on all of them since Dave doesn't like them.) Check!
New addiction? Oh yeah. :)

I hate brownies!
I must confess that I feel like I am a pretty good cook. For the most part everything turns out really good. There is one thing that I screw up every time, it can be from scratch or box, and that this is brownies. I can never get them to turn out just right. They end up over done, they end up too gooey. Why can't I just bake something as simple as brownies? Who knows. Guess we will never know. I will just continue through my life attempting to make brownies that turn out the way that they are supposed to. As for the ones I am making tonight... It looks like they have quite a bit of time left in the oven. (Sigh) I am ready for bed. :(

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
Since Charlie has fallen in love with the Cookin' Cookies game Dave and I have been craving peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. Why you ask? Well, there are 4 recipe card choices: Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, Oatmeal and Raisins, and first flavor (what ever flavor card you get first). Well we tend to play just two of us at a time so Charlie takes the Chocolate Chip and gives the PB to whoever is playing with him. As we are playing we are thinking cookies and how super yummy PB and chocolate are together. So I went to AllRecipes.com and found a recipe. Charlie and I then played the real Cookin' Cookies game. :)

The cookies were eaten before I remembered to take a picture. :) They were good. A little dry, but we will see what we can tweak to make them better next time. I sure love my Charlie time!!

And he eats!!
Today is a big day here in the Ludden household. Today is the day that Christopher started eating solids. Dave says that just because he is eating solids now does not mean he will sleep through the night. A girl can sure grasp on to hope though. Cause I could sure use a full night's rest. :) He did really well. By the end of the second feeding he was actually eating the rice mush instead of spitting it out. Woohoo!! Go Chris! Soon you will be sleeping completely through the night and your mama will be SOOOO HAPPY!
The food. Doesn't that look appetizing. :|
The boy. Awww... Cutie!
Doesn't he look excited to be eating like everyone else?
Maybe not so excited now.

I was not prepared with the camera on video mode to catch the cute "What the..?" faces he made after his first few bites. Though Dave was sweet enough to capture his second meal on video. Please disregard the Charlie monster screaming in the background. He is such an impatient little man.
Right Back!
This evening we were all laying on mama and daddy's bed when Charlie gets down and says "Right Back!". It is amazing what he picks up. Sadly, he has also picked up "Whatever" (from me). Yes, I taught my son to say whatever. Good thing he is so cute. :)

Growing Up
Halloween
So it is a good thing we celebrated Halloween the weekend before Halloween. Charlie has been really sick all week and there was no taking him to the ward trunk-or-treat or trick or treating on Halloween night. Next year will be better! We may actually go trick or treating with our boys.
